Year 2 CW and CF 2019 - 2020

This half term, our theme is pirates!  In literacy, we have been reading pirate themed stories and the children are writing their own versions of the story using exciting adjectives and sentence openers. In art, the children are continuing to make their very own pirate puppets, developing their sewing skills.   In maths, we have been deepening our understanding of number and place value and are practising coloumn addition and column subtraction.

Last week, the children took part in a pirate day!  We baked pirate themed goodies, sang pirate songs, did pirate themed maths activities and read stories about pirates.  The children had a blast!

Just a reminder to conitnue reading the books sent home each week.  A spelling test will be sent home every Friday and completed in school each week on a Thursday.  Lastly, a maths activity is sent home each for children to rehease with their grown up.  This is linked to the learning at school but isn't marked.

Best wishes,

The Year Two Team :)
