Year 2 CW and CF 2019 - 2020

This half term, our topic is 'Busy Bodies!'  In literacy, we began with learning a poem with a dinosaur theme which we used to talk about our senses and what we would have seen, heard, touched when the dinosaurs were on the earth.  The children had some wonderful ideas and used their imaginations and their senses to write with detailed descrption!  Now, we are using our senses to write about different fruits, using noun phrases to create descriptive sentences.  The children are enjoying tasting the yummy fruit!

In art, the children are working towards drawing a portrait of themselves, which can be very tricky, however they've tried very hard and they're look fabulous!  In maths, we have moved onto learning about multiplication and division.  At home, you could practise their 2, 3, 5, and 10 times tables to help them with their learning.  We are drawing arrays for multiplication which the children have engaged very well with.

Just a reminder to conitnue reading the books sent home each week.  A spelling test will be sent home every Friday and completed in school each week on a Thursday.  Lastly, a maths activity is sent home each for children to rehease with their grown up.  This is linked to the learning at school but isn't marked.

Best wishes,

The Year Two Team :)
