PE / Sport

“I wish we could do more stuff like this!”…

…the words of aspiring chef, Alfie, Y6 – who this week helped cook up a super-healthy meal for several of the Marlcliffe staff.

It was Scarlett who suggested the five-a-day stir-fry and thanks to Lauren who came up with the fruit smoothie recipe.

The meal marked the conclusion of our first ‘Change4Life’ scheme; an eight-week government-backed programme of after-school sessions promoting healthy eating and exercise.  And we’re really proud at the way our children have tackled it with commitment  and enthusiasm!

A trip to Forge Valley School saw our fab youngsters getting stuck into a range of different sports activities – from tennis, to football, to cycling.  Not to mention a team talk with Change4Life mascot, Archie…

Well done to everyone who took part…

We look forward to finding our next ‘Change4Life’ recruits in the coming term.

As we are a Healthy School we place a great emphasis on PE and sport. Most of our PE lessons are taught by Miss Butcher and Mrs Shentall. They introduce children to different aspects of PE such as dance, gymnastics and team games.

We are part of the Arches Sports Partnership and take part in many competitive events where we meet children from other local schools.
